Update for My lucky number 13 first contest

There is one week left until the My lucky number 13 first contest ends, so I thought it’s a good idea to remind you about it and to tell you how the contest is going until now.

For those of you who have no clue what I’m talking about, this is a very easy contest with simple rules where everybody can participate. You can find all the rules on the contest’s page and if you want to participate, please leave there a comment.

There are 41 contesters until know. 18 of them wrote a post about this contest. 24 of them has subscribed to RSS through a reader. 32 of them has subscribed to RSS via email.

Let’s make some approximations:
1. Every post about this contest contains 2 backlinks to my blog. That means 36 backlinks. That means $100 / 36 links= $2.78 / link

2. There are 24 subscribes to RSS through a reader. That means $100 / 24 subscribers = $4.17 / subscriber

3. There are 32 people subscribe to RSS via email. That means $100 / 32 subscribers = $3.125 / subscriber.

I don’t know if anybody paid someone to subscribe to his/her RSS feed, but I do know that many people are paying for a backlink. And if you think that I have got both backlinks and subscribers, the value of a backlink is even smaller than $2.78.

Well, I’ve told you that you should run a contest , didn’t I?

Of course, I don’t know how many backlinks and subscribers will remain after the contest ends. But we’ll live and we’ll see!
