My domain is for sale! What?
February 18th, 2008
Last night I had the unpleasant surprise to find out that my blog is for sale. What ?!?!
I’ve searched 134u on DomainsBot and I saw that 134u.com is for sale, though last week it was reserved.

Now, you don’t have to think that I verify or search for my domain every week
Just wanted to find other domains which include 134u “word”.
So my domain is for sale on Sedo and Afternic. On Sedo there is no much information, but on Afternic, there are a few.

As you can see, there is a seller (Netrian) and you can make a minimum offer: $500. Wow! What a valuable domain I have!
Of course, I cannot contact Netrian unless I’m a paid member. And I don’t want to pay anything just to say something “sweet” to him.
I’ve contacted my hosting provider and they said that the domain cannot be selling because it is not expired and it is registered through them, so there is nothing to worry about.
Just a small note: I’ve never intended to sell my domain, neither my blog.

Wow, that had to give you a scare for a couple minutes. Who would want to put your domain up for sale, especially a domain they don’t own? Hmm.

Do you imagine that I didn’t felt good when I saw that. The same question I’d put myself, but I think I’ll never get an answer for that.
Wow! That’s really amazing! Makes one wonder what is going through some people’s heads.
DomainBot, that you mentioned, had some interesting results, though. They seem to be way off as to the availability of some names. I wonder where they get their info from.
Anyway, it’s good to know that your domain isn’t in any danger of getting hijacked!

I’ve choose with DomainsBot all my blog’s names and I hadn’t any problem with them. Yet! I saw that sometime the results aren’t so accurate; I mean for some reserved domains they appear available. But if you refresh the page 2-3 times, the results are good

Yet!
Hi Diana,
It’s good that your domain name is safe. I have read other sites getting hacked by internet pirates. What’s ironic is these pirates sell the sites to the rightful owner for a ridiculous price!
Hope that doesn’t happen to any of us.

Yes, I’ve read those articles too. And those articles have come into my mind when I saw that my domain is for sale
I thought the whole thing is true when I read your title through the feed…Fortunately for me, mine is really safe although nimrodjo.net and .org is available (search through Domain Bot too)…If one day you sale this blog (just maybe), I won’t be visiting it again…but for now, I will keep coming for sure…

They tried to sell it back to him for $5,000.00 USD He led them on till they pissed him off and he ended up with his domain back, but it was anything but easy!

Yes, I’ve read about those situations, too. It’s a real headache when something like this is happening.
That’s crazy, you need to contact Sedo with the guy’s account name to get that auction removed, and hopefully get that person to be put on a blacklist or something just incase anything happens in the future.

I haven’t find any way to contact SEDO. I’ve send two emails to Afternic, but no answers yet. I cannot post in their forum because I’m not a paid member.
Gosh..what a shocking story Diana.. davidairey.com got hijacked during his vacation. The bad people hacking into Gmail password system. Secure your domain and all account related by doing periodic password changes..
Hope that 134u.com always safe with you

If someone offered me $500 for my site I would sell in a heartbeat, and just start over again. Whether I intended to sell or not.
Well, I don’t
But maybe for $100.000, who knows
Ha.. make sure u have the protection enabled in ur domain (and make the admin email get delivered to your inbox). So that no one can transfer the domain.

Your domain name is cool. It can be worth more than USD 500…
I think $500 is cheap for this domain. You’re getting undersold
