Fairy tale wedding

I don’t know about you, but one of my greatest pleasures since my son was born is to watch cartoon movies. Especially the Disney movies. You see, when I was a child, I didn’t have this chance: I haven’t either a TV or such cartoon movies. So in my childhood I have replaced cartoon movies with fairy tale books. I mean a lot of fairy tale books. What can I say? I was and I still am a day-dreamer. So you can imagine how delighted I am, watching this cartoons with my son. And because I am still a day-dreamer, I use to live with the characters along the movie. My son is a little confused when he saw me crying or laughing or being sad. “Mommy, don’t cry, it’s just a movie!”

My wedding? It happens a looong time ago. When I was a child, I used to think that my wedding will be a fairy tale wedding. Well, it was a kind of tale. Not how I have imagine that. If I would get the time back, I would do the thing different. I would invite much more friends, my wedding invitation would be Disney themed, my wedding cake would be a very big one, and so on. Of course, since I like Disney movies so much, it would be very difficult which Disney character to choose for the wedding invitations: would be Cinderella invitations? or Mickey & Minnie invitations? or Winnie the Pooh invitations? Hmmm, it’s very hard to choose from such wonderful characters. Maybe I would choose one of the Disney Princesses invitations. And my wedding dress would be as beautiful as in fairy tales. And my prince would come after me riding a white horse. Well, I would be pleased with a white limousine, too

But what’s that sound? Is my phone that is ringing? Oh, I have another day dream. Well, I must go back to the real life again.

UK comparison shopping engine

Christmas isn’t so far away so pretty soon I must start to make Christmas shopping. I have to buy many gifts, and I want them to be great and not so expensive (you see, I’m not a millionaire yet  ). But this means that I must to spend a lot of time searching for the perfect gifts who meets my requirements. Even if I make my shopping online, I must to do some researches, too. And in the mean while, who blogs for me? Well, this sounds familiar to you? I think that the best solution for this dilemma is a website who can find the desired products selled online by more stores, at the lowest prices.

QuickShopQuickShop.co.uk is a UK comparison shopping engine, that’s going to make the shopper life easier. You can find very quickly what do you want to buy and, the more you refine your searches, the better results you can get. You can search by price, by brand or even by color and QuickShop finds the best and relevant deals for any product ranged from Arts and Crafts, Books, Jewelry and Watches, Toys and Games and much more. You’ve noticed that I choose some categories from where you can find Christmas gifts, but QuickShop has a Buying Guide Index where you can find all you want. If you have some headache about what to buy for your beloved, you can find the best opinion at Gift Guides section.

For this year, my kid makes a long list of what he wants from Santa. But of course, because I’m his mom, I want to buy him some educational toys, too. So I’ve searched about “Educational Toys, 4 years” and QuickShop displays a list of these kinds of toys, with the stores where I can find them. I can sort these results by relevance or by price. I can even find a product or store review, if there are any (well, there aren’t many reviews, since this website has just launched).

I’m quiet sure that with such a comparison shopping engine you can make your Christmas shopping as quick and easy as possible.

Ad-Aware: protect your secrets

How many of you are using an anti-spyware program? Did you notice that from time to time your computer will work slower? Have you ever wonder if your secrets are safe? Well, you may have big surprises if you run an anti-spyware program. Ad-Aware is the greatest anti-spyware that I’ll ever use. Even if I run a good Antivirus program on my computer, that contain also a anti-spy module (Kaspersky), when I run Ad-Aware I find a lot of little spy that hijack my little secrets.

Ad-Aware is a Lavasoft (a company that develop and deliver the highest quality of anti-spyware solutions and service to keep computers and networks around the globe secure from compromising and intrusive privacy threats) product and has a free license as well as a paid license (PLUS or PRO). You can find here a list with detailed information about every license. The free anti-spyware version provides advanced protection against spyware that secretly attaches and takes control of your computer, resulting in aggressive advertising pop-ups, sluggish computer activity, even identity theft through stolen bank details, passwords, and credit card account numbers. If you want real-time scanning capabilities, you can buy the PLUS license for real-time protection against spyware, all the time.

You will see that the last version of Ad-Aware has a beautiful design and it’s easy to use. When you open Ad-Aware, you will see first the Main Status, which provides information about some of your settings, about the previous scan, and the version of Definitions File (extensive library of identified and analyzed spyware). Even if the Automatic Update is set to On, for the free version you must use a manual Update in order to update the Definitions File. With the Pro and Plus versions you can set a personalized schedule for web updates.

Ad-Aware

In order to scan your computer, you may need to change your settings. You can perform manual scan as well as an auto-scan on Ad-Aware startup or on Windows startup.

Ad-Aware

Ad-Aware

I’ll not explain you now what every setting means, since you have a great help with text and images where you can find all you need to know.
Ad-Aware

In the free version you have also a Track Sweep. This tool erase the tracks left behind after you surf the Web, id est it can clean the cookies, the history, the cache and tabs. You just need to choose what browser you use, choose what do you want to clean and Track Sweep will do the rest.

Ad-Aware

You can perform a Smart Scan, a Full Scan or a Custom Scan. You can change the settings of these types of scans only on paid versions. On the free license, you can only choose what type of scan you want to perform. This is how a Full Scan looks:

Ad-Aware

The scan time depends on how many files and folders do you have on your computer. My computer is pretty full, so my scan time is about 10 minutes. Of course, in the mean while you can work on your computer, this scan didn’t bother you.
After the scan is complete, you will see all the freaky objects founded, with the descriptions. You can choose what you want to do: to add these objects on a ignore list or to remove them.

The Ignore List can be used when you want to keep a particular detected item installed on your system, and you don’t want Ad-Aware to remove it. When you add items to the Ignore List, Ad-Aware will not detect them when your system is scanned. The Ignore List lists types of objects together by category, and shows a description of each object’s location.

Ad-Aware

And Finished! Your secrets are now away from inquiring eyes.

Notes: You have noticed that my review is for the free license, because this is what I use. If you want a paid license you can read more about Ad-Aware Pro and Ad-Aware Plus.

Oh, I almost forget: if you want to try Ad-Aware for free, you can download it from here.
