As many of you knows already, there was a Google PR update these days as well as an IBL update.
So, My lucky number 13 has PR2 again. But I’m very proud for two of our recent projects (where I work with Simonne), our make money online blog and our free web directory which have jumped from PR0 to PR4 (yuppie ). And for that kind of projects, a higher PR is very important.

I think the reason for which I have only PR2 at my lucky 13 blog (which has about 7 months old) compared with PR4 at EzMoneyOn.Net (which has 2 months old) is the fact that on lucky 13 I have much more external links with do follow on my home page: I have 13 links from everything in my sidebar, plus I post 5 full articles on homepage. On EzMoneyOn.Net we have chosen to post excerpts, and PR was one of the reasons for that.

A very good tool for counting your external links with dofollow is Site link analyzer from SeoChat, which tells me that on My Lucky Number 13 I have 220 external links with dofollow and on EzMoneyOn.Net I have 26 links with dofollow.

Of course that the number of external links is just one factor for a PR evaluation. There are also very important the number and the quality of inbound links.

Of course, all these are great news for me and a motif of joy; I don’t know how much do you care about them, but I just wanted to share my joy with you!

After we’ve created few themes and promoted them on some forums, a guy told me on DP forum that if we upload our themes on his site, he gives us $1 for each of them. That gave me the idea to search other sites where I can upload our themes, and I’ve discovered a lot of them. Not even you can promote your Wordpress themes for free, but most of them also give a link back. And most of them have a pretty big PR.

I will list here all these sites (or at least those I’ve found on Google), with their PR and if they give back link or not.

In order to be accepted in TNX.net program your blog have to pass out some requirements, for example:

• It is preferable to have pages on the site with PR at least 1
• You must have your own domain
• Your site must be indexed by Google
• Your site must have at least 30 pages (with regular ranking)
• Your site must be in PHP

Once your blog is accepted, you’ll have to insert a code in your site, in the place where you want the links to be displayed (usually in the sidebar).

Publishers can choose their advertisers by themselves, placing only links which are relevant for them. This feature is explained in detail how it works on this thread in Digital Point forums

If you want to know how much you will earn by selling links on your website, you have an income calculator which calculates your profit (in TNX points as well as in $) according to your number of pages and PR.

I’ve search on Goole for this issue and I’ve found an article explaining that this seems to be a Wordpress bug.

The solution is very simple and consist in a little modification to the file pluggable.php, located in wp-includes folder.

You’ll have to comment the line 228:

$phpmailer->Sender = apply_filters( ‘wp_mail_from’, $from_email );

So it should look like this:

//$phpmailer->Sender = apply_filters( ‘wp_mail_from’, $from_email );

After I’ve made the change, I’ve uploaded the file and it works. Just that the “from” from the notification looks strange. It didn’t show the person who left the comments, but an email address from BlueHost (EzMoneyOn.Net is hosted on BlueHost).

So I’ve commented the line 227 either:

$phpmailer->From = apply_filters( ‘wp_mail_from’, $from_email );

Which finally look like this:

//$phpmailer->From = apply_filters( ‘wp_mail_from’, $from_email );

Now, my comment notifications on EzMoneyOn.Net work fine. Just to notice that on 134u.com I haven’t made any changes on this file, but the comment notifications works fine either.

Note: Even if WordPress has released 2.3.3 version, it seems that this issue wasn’t fix.
