Welcome to the 13th edition of Resource for Bloggers Carnival! And the last one! Wow, I didn’t premeditated this, just I don’t have time anymore to hold this carnival, and it seems that many people wants backlinks, but nobody want to do a little work.

Eh well, it was a good carnival, with a lot of good articles and I, as well as you, I hope, have learned a lot from them.

Let’s see the best articles submitted for this edition:

Raivyn presents Make More Money With Multiple Income Streams posted at Idiot’s Guide to Blogging, saying, “Blogging for money has become a popular career choice among many internet users over the past few years, and continues to grow steadily. Unfortunately, only a select few of these bloggers manage to earn a decent income. Why is this?”

Woman Tribune presents ScratchBack: Because the PayPal Donation Button is Ugly posted at Woman Tribune, saying, “Making money for your blogging/website endeavors isn’t new, it’s actually a big reason why so many people are starting their own websites. There are many ways that you can make money blogging including putting a PayPal donation button on your site.”

Nesher presents BlogDesk – free software for Blog writing and publishing posted at Blogging for Good in the Modern World, saying, “BlogDesk is an offline software client for the following blogging platforms: WordPress, MovableType, Drupal, Serendipity, and ExpressionEngine, that assists in writing and publishing new blog posts.”

Kurt Schmitt presents The 9 Myths of Duplicate Content posted at Free Website Traffic Tips, saying, “Do duplicate content penalties exist? There’s a great deal of confusion over this subject, and you need to know how to cut through that confusion if you want to have a successful website. I’d like to share with you some myths and what my take on reality is.”

Kurt Schmitt presents WordPress SEO and Robots.txt posted at Free Website Traffic Tips, saying, “One step in the WordPress SEO process is to properly set up robots.txt so that you avoid indexing duplicate content. I’ve spent the better part of two weeks setting up my blog and ran into some conflicting information on the subject. I decided to test things out, and found some interesting things. I thought I’d share my results.”

Sally Thompson presents 50 Awesome Open Source Resources for Online Writers posted at JobProfiles.org – Job Descriptions and Online Schools to Start Your Career, saying, “With the popularity of blogging and online journals, writers working in the online realm have a growing number of opportunities all the time to practice and refine their craft, and maybe even get paid for it. And if you’re working online, why not take advantage of all the opportunities to get great free and open source resources that can help you to write, edit and organize your work? Here’s a list of fifty open source tools that you can use to make your writing even better.”

But at just under $500 this is too steep for many budgets. Tim Ash’s new book is a very good alternative. In fact, it is probably a good idea to start here.”

Kathleen Gage presents Blogging is so simple virtually anyone can do it posted at Street Smarts Marketing & Promotions, saying, “Blogging is one of the easiest points of entry to Internet Marketing. If you can write a shopping list, if you can journal, if you can write a letter to a friend or business associate, you can blog. The key though is to simply get started. And once you begin, get in the habit of blogging at least three times a week. You can actually schedule time into your day to blog. There are so many incredible benefits to blogging; visibility, credibility; opportunity to express your opinion, opportunity to create a dialogue where none existed; a chance to be heard; you can use a blog to write your next book, and more.”

Robert Phillips presents I’m Not as Bad As Others posted at CYBERCA$HOLOGY, saying, “This is the perfect example of how you can’t please everyone. Many people like the fact that I try to inject some of my personality into my posts and this is part of it…but some people don’t like those posts. I can’t please everyone all the time.”

Maybe increase your traffic ? Or perhaps you just desire a nice inbound link with some good Page Rank behind it? Whatever your decision may be, (it may very well be you are competative and just like the thrill of competing against others) Blog Power Lists are one sure fire way to help in your quest to increase traffic, better your inbound links count with a quality link, as well as build a Brand Name Awareness for your blog as it climbs the ladder of success.”

Anthony presents 42 Adsense Ready Wordpress Themes Optimized For Monetization posted at Blog Me The Money, saying, “When planning and laying out your blog, it is important to think ahead, not only in terms of “look”, “Feel”, and “Seo Optimization”, but also “Adsense Optimization”. But I am sure you already know that, and so do the creators who dreamed up these themes and optimized them for you. The following themes offer distinctive ad placement spots that blend in well with the rest of the theme.”

Christine presents Money Making Blogs and Websites posted at Me, My Kid and Life: An American Single Mom Living in France, saying, “Is it possible to make money online? I must say that I used to be a skeptic. That being said, I wanted to start my own website where I could share information about topics that interest me as well as information I felt could help other single moms and free spirits. The questions were: Would it be a hobby or could it generate an income. Could I create a money making website or a money making blog? If so, how much could I make? A couple hundred bucks a month? Could website monetization support me?”

vjack presents Creating Great Blog Posts: Chasing the Elusive posted at Atheist Revolution, saying, “A good blog post is one that is interesting, informative, or enjoyable to read. But a truly great post goes beyond that and is thought-provoking in an enduring and perhaps unexpected way. It sticks in one’s mind, and inserts itself in one’s thoughts hours to days after one encounters it. These highly elusive posts are like buried treasures in that they are rare but well worth the effort to uncover. So how do we bloggers create more of these treasures?”

Carol Bentley presents Don?t assume all is OK. . . posted at Carol Bentley, saying, “You’ve worked hard to make sure everything is working properly. Whether it’s a process in your administration, in your production, in your marketing or on your website. Now it’s time to relax, safe in the knowledge that everything is running smoothly. Think again!”

Craig presents Internet Business Techniques posted at Craig S. Andrews.com, saying, “The advent of internet has revolutionized the entire world. As a consequence of this, the latest hit among the marketing professionals is the internet marketing or e-marketing. As any other profession, internet marketing too has its own competition. Here are a few internet marketing techniques that would help you perform better with better results.”

Heather Johnson presents Protect Online Reputation posted at Daily Biz Solutions, saying, “One of the newest aspects of running a successful business involves “online reputation management.” While most entrepreneurs and managers understand why it is important to create an official Web site, some don’t realize that their online reputation may already precede them. Have you Googled your company’s name lately? If not, then what you find could be distressing.”

Brian Terry presents 259+ Great Resources for Great Web Design posted at Big Selling Website Design, saying, “Finding useful and informative information for great web design can be a time consuming task. Apart from the time involved you really need to know what you are looking for.”

Tejvan Pettinger presents The Basics of Affiliate Marketing posted at Net Writing, saying, “I have experimented with several affiliate schemes and these are some of the things I have learnt.”

Cindy King presents How To Set Your Computer To Read Foreign Languages posted at Cindy King, saying, “Small businesses, or website owners who do not have the budgets for full fledged website localization, can still market to foreign cultures using little tricks to get around common cultural hurdles. One of these cultural hurdles can simply be related to the different alphabets and “character sets”. How can you communicate with a foreign country if you can’t even type in language?”

aLien presents aLien bake web site with CMS posted at aLien Blog Shop, saying, “Funny way to learn CMS.”

Marcus Hochstadt presents Why I Do Not Use FeedBurner posted at Internet Business Guide, saying, “It seems as if the majority of bloggers use FeedBurner to distribute and track the use of their RSS feeds. Marcus Hochstadt has his reasons for NOT using FeedBurner though.”

Raivyn presents Writing Exercise: Speed Posting posted at Idiot’s Guide to Blogging, saying, “It is not uncommon for bloggers to invest a lot of time into writing their posts. It can take anywhere from ten minutes to ten days (or longer) to create a post, depending on the length, how well you know the subject, distractions, and a number of other factors. The only way to speed this process up is through practice.”

MBB presents How To Get A Free Laptop or Plasma TV posted at Money Blue Book, saying, “If you’ve ever encountered sites on the internet that claimed to offer brand new laptop computers, mp3 players, or even plasma TV’s for free, I’m sure most of you jumped to the immediate conclusion that they must all be scams. What I’m about to share may be time consuming and require almost anal, obsessive compulsive organizational skills, but the potential payoff at the end is quite substantial.”

Carl Ringwall presents Set Up WordPress Pay-Per-Post With iSubscribe posted at Data SystemsPlus, saying, “In a forum post, I explanied how iDevSpot’s iSubscribe could be used to set up a membership site with WordPress. While you can use iSubcribe to protect an entire WordPress installation and have it function as a membership site, it’s also a snap to set up a Pay-Per-Post system with your existing WordPress blog with iSubscribe. In fact, I’m getting some Premium posts ready to use this method myself.”

Traffic2mypage presents Spread Your Word The Viral Way And Boost Your Traffic posted at Traffic2MyPage Blog, saying, “Viral marketing is highly effective in generating giant streams of traffic to your page which requires little effort once you have created it.”

Cindy King presents Book Review – Letting Go Of The Words – Writing Web Content That Works By Janice Redish posted at Cindy King, saying, “Letting Go Of The Words is a must read for anyone involved with a website or blog. This is not about the tools you need or anything technical. This book is about web content and information strategies. It’s about “planning, selecting, organizing, writing, illustrating, reviewing, and testing content”…that gives readers a successful and satisfying web experience.”

Ed Rivis presents Question Time Answers, Part 1. posted at Ed Rivis, saying, “There are some powerful tips in both the answers AND the questions themselves – I hope you’re able to use this information with great effect.”

Welcome to the 12th edition of Resource for Bloggers Carnival!

Even if there are fewer articles than in the latest edition, you still have something to read. I’m sorry that I didn’t include all the articles I’ve received, but not all was appropriate for this carnival.

And here are the articles:

Les Dysom presents 5 Keys to Successful Internet Business posted at Internet Business Coaching by Terry Dean, saying, “Here are the five principles of being successful in your business. Write all 5 out and post them on a post-it note right to your computer monitor.”

Pinyo presents Use Blurb Exchange To Promote Your Niche Blog posted at Blogthority, saying, “With all the rave about niche blogging and linking only to related sites, bloggers are overlooking a powerful marketing tool. Sure, its great to get targeted niche traffic but some niches are universally appealing to most readers.”

Christine presents How to Get Ideas for Writing Blogs and Creating Website Articles posted at Me, My Kid and Life: An American Single Mom Living in France, saying, “The easiest way to write prolifically for your website or blog is by having a website or blog that addresses your passion. If you love gardening then it might be easy for you to write endlessly about the subject. If you blow glass you might have a wealth of information on the subject that you wish to share with others. Therefore, the easiest way to get ideas for your blog or website is to be inspired by your topic.”

the baglady presents Weekend Musings on Blog Promotion – The Baglady posted at The Baglady, saying, “I have been tinkering with a few new programs to promote my site and generate more revenue. Here are my trials and experiences.”

Joel presents Mark Your Calendars, The Blog Revolution Project Is Coming… posted at So You Want To Teach?, saying, “I am going to spend the month looking in depth at ways to start your very own Blog Revolution Project. I’m going to challenge all of my blogger friends (and anyone else out there who wants to join me) to do the daily projects.”

Kevin presents 101 Internet Traffic Generation Strategies – Part 1 posted at Trafficteria.com Blog Optimization, saying, “Just because you build a website does not mean traffic will come. I found that out the hard way. Over the past several years I have tried many ideas. Some winners and some big losers. I have compiled a list of 101 ideas that have helped generate internet traffic to my websites.”

Steve Faber presents - How to Increase Targeted Website Traffic For Free – and 2 Big Mistakes That Can Keep You From Doing So posted at Home Based Business Success, saying, “Nothing occupies the minds of most Internet (and any other) marketers as much as the question of how to increase targeted traffic to their websites. If that traffic happens to be free, so much the better. One of the ways used by marketers to get more targeted traffic is through article marketing. Writing articles and letting others publish them in exchange for a link back to your website is a powerful technique. It’s used by experienced and newbie marketers alike.”

Cancerkitty presents Setup a Personal, Portable Web Server posted at DelSquacho, aying, “An easy to follow tutorial for setting up an Apache web server on a thumb drive.
Carol Bentley presents Twitter, twitter posted at Carol Bentley, saying, “Have you come across Twitter? There’s a lot of interest in Twittering; lots of people are getting involved. I can understand how it helps people communicate on a regular basis – especially socially. It certainly seems popular with younger people, almost as an adjunct to their mobile texting.”

Michael Bass presents Stumbleupon.com Brought Me 60,000 Hits in 60 days posted at Debt Prison, saying, “There is no comparison in Digg.com and Stumbleupon.com. At least not when you are talking about the ability of a webpage to be seen quickly by many readers. Stumbleupon.com can create such a surge of traffic to your site, you’ll think something is broken.”

And, like I mentioned then, the most disturbing thing to me was not that there were measurable changes in behavior off-line, but that the people did not even recognize the changes nor how they had been manipulated. What they saw was perceived as real.”

If you are going to bother building a popular blog then don’t just give away all your knowledge for free and rely on selling other people’s knowledge. Sell your own!”

Maureen presents What is a Pillar Article, and How Can You Use It for Your Site? posted at 5 Star Blog, saying, “I’m going to introduce you to the reverse concept, called Pillar Articles. On the surface, they are no different than your other blog article, but for some reason, you generate a bunch of traffic from them. People find that information useful, so they stumble or digg your article, or they link to it from inside their own blog.”

PabloPabla presents Simple Tips To Please Your Readers posted at Blogsreview.Net, saying, “A blog requires a blogger and readers to tango. Many bloggers dig through countless articles on how to improve the readership numbers but fail to realise that there are some simple tips to win your current readers over. One step which is often neglected is the conversion of a regular reader into a loyal reader – one who will stick through with you no matter whether your blog is going places or going through a slump. These simple and obvious tips are based on effective business marketing tactics, psychological methods and common sense.”

Raj presents The Secrets of Successful Blogging posted at MT Herald Dot Com, saying, “How to keep the flame of your blog get going without getting extinguished? How to keep away from getting demotivated? The answer is traffic! Traffic is the ultimate success of any blog. If your blog is without a single visitor, you lose confidence and enthusiasm. So, how to bring in traffic? How to sustain such brought traffic? How to prolong the initial enthusiasm that you had? How to be a successful blogger? I have amassed a few guidelines (which I’ve learnt over a short span of time) to withstand the pressure of getting withered out and to have the fun of blogging. All these tips are interconnected; hence, try to adhere to every single aspect because every small deed that you do in the right direction is a keystone in constructing your blog. Assuming that you are coming up from scratch, I begin here.”

Ian Richardson presents Would you like an Ezy way to manage multiple Wordpress Blogs? posted at Make Everything EzyAs123, saying, “While a typical website can take hours to update, a site built around a blog can be updated INSTANTLY and search engines quickly take notice…”

James Alenteal presents Do your prospects scan or read your sales pages? Part 1. posted at James Alenteal’s Conversion Rate Clinic, saying, “Did you know that the great majority of readers scan through your sales page without giving it much detailed thought? And after all that time you put into your copy. Carefully crafting that lead-in paragraph. Making sure your above-the-fold area was appealing and appropriate to your message. All this, just to have your prospect scan past it?”

James Alenteal presents Do your prospects scan or read your sales pages? Part 3. posted at James Alenteal’s Conversion Rate Clinic, saying, “One of the ways to approach the problem of people scanning (instead of reading) your sales page is to make your page “scan friendly.” This is consistent with what I teach elsewhere, which is to not fight your visitors, but to join them in their Inner Dialog, their sub-verbal language that we call “thought” that occurs between our ears.”

j blu presents 5 Tips For Preventing Blogger’s Brainfreeze posted at Blogging Tips & Fresh Perspectives – Fresh Geeks, saying, “Blogger’s Brainfreeze is a sharp and painful headache caused by excessive time spent blogging, researching, or promoting the blog-related. This can be harmful because it could potentially cause Blogger’s Burnout. So, how do you prevent the dreaded condition?”

Sharon Hurley Hall presents How To Promote Yourself Through Guest Blogging posted at Get Paid to Write Online, saying, “As you know, I think all writers should blog. That’s because blogging is a great way to sharpen your writing skills in a relaxing way. Having a blog is also a wonderful way to connect with potential clients, with other writers and online friends. And of course, it’s a fantastic way to promote yourself. However, there is a way to increase the promotional juice that you get from blogging, and that’s by sharing some of your writing savvy on other blogs by guest blogging.”

Nadim presents How to write an Outstanding Post? posted at Blogging and Search Engine Optimisation Tips – B4 Blogging, saying, “In today’s blogging days its is pretty much obvious people springing out with post for the blogs but as you read there is nothing which you find is away from each other, compelling the user to come back again to your blog and be a imperative reader of it. Blogging is not just about submitting or writing content which can be found on 100’s of other blogs with the same content its about what you give you reader apart from what others say.”
In this 3 month of blogging, I’ve learned that free traffic requires hard work. And by this, I mean free traffic requires a lot of time to get it. I’ve tried different ways to bring to my blog free traffic. I’ll list here what I’ve tried with some good results.”
