BlogRush Account Inactive
October 22nd, 2007
Like many of you, I receive an email last morning from the BlogRush team, which starts, obviously, with
We regret to inform you that your BlogRush Account has been made INACTIVE because your blog did not pass our Quality Review criteria.
And their reason is:
The primary reason(s) your blog(s) did not meet our guidelines:
Not Enough Posts
Look at the list of BlogRush quality criteria:
- The blog contains unique, quality content that provides opinions, insights, and/or recommended resources that provide value to readers of the blog. Articles, videos, public domain works, press releases, and content written by others are okay to be used on the blog, but the ratio of unique content should far outweigh content from other sources.
- The blog should be updated on a regular basis (at least several times a month) and should not just go a few months between posts.
- The blog should already contain at least 10-12 quality posts. New blogs with very little content will not be accepted.
- The blog’s primary contain must be in English. BlogRush is currently not available for non-English blogs.- The blog should not contain an excessive amount of advertising and links and very little actual content. The focus of the blog should be quality content.
- The primary content of the blog should not be “scraped” content from other sources and/or script-generated pages for the sole purpose of search engine rank manipulation. The focus of the blog should be quality content.
- The blog’s content (or advertising) should not contain any of the following types of content: hate, anti-racial, terrorism, drug-related, hacking, phishing, fraud, pornographic, nudity, warez, gambling, copyright infringement, obscene or disgusting material of any kind, or anything considered illegal.
I know my blog is new. But from 29 posts which I have, they didn’t find 10 quality posts? Is my blog so low quality? I’ll let me readers to judge that. I’ve been upset all morning, until I’ve return from my son’s Kindergarten and I saw that BlogRush has banned even big blogs, with many and quality posts, like Seopedia, World’s famous photos, John Cow … These are just 3 of them, but I’m sure there are more. I’m not happy that BR banned big blogs, too; I just wonder how carefully verified the BR team all these blogs.
I will reconsider if I’ll submit on BR again. I was so happy that I have BR widget and now I’m very disappointed.
If you have same experiences with BR please leave a comment.

From what I can see and read, your blog is very much in a level of quality that some blog didn’t have…but if big blogs also get rejected, then something is not right here…I’m waiting for one more month before I decide to put up BR widget or put it down because whenever I wanted to check my stat, up till this moment, BR2 is still not in motion…hopefully, there will be new updates soon and I hope your blog will be accepted this time around…
nimrodjo’s last blog post..Pass On This Award!
nimrodjo, thank you very much for your kindly words: I surely need them

I think that this review of all 10.000 blogs was made pretty quickly and superficial. Otherwise, it will take an eternity
I suppose they hired monkeys to make the reviews. However, I’m happy that I discovered your blog because of them
Simonne, thanks. I’m very glad that with this occasion I discover your blog, too
I’m very surprised you were turned down as I think your blog is very good quality!
My email was this:
You are receiving this update because your blog has passed our strict
Quality Guidelines and criteria — we believe you have a high-quality
blog and we are happy you’re a member of our network!
So I was lucky…
Anyway, keep up your good work, they will realise they made a mistake…
Lady Banana, thanks for your words. You are very kind, like always. I’m happy that your blog meet their criteria

Diana,
Keep your chin up and, certainly, don’t let this get you down. It’s not as though you’re missing out on much because the traffic levels/click through rates have been quite sketchy.
As to why your blog was rejected, I cannot say for certain, but it probably fell into the hands of an overzealous reviewer.
I believe the review system was put in place quite hastily after bloggers (myself included) mentioned the low threshold for entry and how much of a problem it would be due to spammers; it was annoying to see brand new blogs appearing in my sidebar when I wouldn’t even link to those blogs in my comments.
All of that said, I know that John recently sent out a notice that more changes were in store for BlogRush. If this is something you really want to break into, wait a couple more weeks, then try to sign up again — more than likely you’ll be accepted.

Hi Teli, thanks for your visit and your comment. And your kindly words, too
But, who knows, maybe after a few weeks, I will reconsider my position
At this point, I’m pretty disappointed about BR, and I’m not sure if I submit my blog on BR ever again

BlogRush either has some kind of plan, or they are brain dead and the blog reviews were done by a bunch of monkeys ( I read these were people they recruited on the Internet for twelve bucks an hour).
I run a popular primarily political blog and got the axe. There is no good reason for the removal.
But, ironically I was going to remove them anyway. Despite being one of the first bloggers to sign up and getting them a lot of referrals and traffic, I never got much traffic off it. And I was getting pretty tired of all their big talk of the revamped BlogRush which all had the sound of snake oil and puffery.

Just remember, your blog is not here because or for BR. You didn’t start your blog to wear their widget. Just look at all the comments! People like you… they REALLY LIKE YOU
Perhaps this is their way of getting people to WANT to use them?
BlogRush is worthless anyway. I have 127 people signed up under me and it hasn’t done a thing. All it does is make other people rich, most are blogs you have probably never heard of. I have a blogrush account but I WILL NOT put it in my side bar to display a bunch of stuff I don’t read! Consider it a blessing
Bobby Revell’s last blog post..That Page Is Rank - Smelling
Becky, thanks for dropping by. Yes, it seems that BR didn’t kept their promises
Diana, thanks for your kindly words. I think that BR lost many fans and after this “kindly” campaign against BR I have some doubts that there are many people who want to use them. But this is just me
Bobby, oh yes, I begin to consider it a blessing, because I free up my space to add something more interesting, as you can see
