You can help too!

Help HollyHolly Alonzo is a 21-year-old wife and mother, diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2), which is tumors on the spine and cranial nerves. The doctors remove her tumor, but after the surgery she woke up blind.

Now, the Neurofibromatosis is threatening her hearing. She has already lost the hearing in one ear due to the bilateral tumors on her hearing nerves and the tumor on her good ear is now growing and something has to be done soon.

She is hopping to get an auditory brain stem implant (ABI) which will provide her with some auditory stimulation so she won’t have to risk being completely blind AND deaf. Unfortunately, the procedures to get the implant are only done at select hospitals which do not accept her insurance (Medicaid). The estimated cost of the surgery is $60,000.

Pelf Nyok and Yvonne Foong have launched a One Dollar Campaign to help Holly raise the $60,000.

How can you help Holly?

1. Donate $1 to Holly.

2. Blog about Holly and spread the news as much as you can.

3. Place a “Help Holly” badge on your blog. You can find some badges on Holly’s blog.

Many thanks to all of you who will help Holly!

Did I miss something?

I think I must make a new category with rhetorical questions.

I’ve submitted my blog to Blog Explosion for about 4 months ago. I understood that there were some changes and the new team has to review a large amount of blogs submitted. But I didn’t expect, not for a minute, that my blog will be declined. And the reason?

Sorry your blog has been declined at BlogExplosion as we are no longer accepting blogs that primarily contain advertising, or promote business opportunities.

Did I miss something? If I search deeper in my blog, I have 7 paid posts out of 105 posts and a few affiliate links on my sidebar.

Another one:

Three months ago, someone has reviewed my blog on LinkRefferal. He said:

This was an okay Blogger. I like the name you have, and also that you made your own header graphic for it. Do you work for blogger? I got the sense that your blog was about advertising for them, as opposed to your “personal” blog. Why do you want traffic to your personal blog? other than your personal friends and what not? what is there on your blog (other than ads and promotion of blogger) that would want someone to come back to read? whats the theme? Just a question I had. Good luck with your blogger..

He didn’t even bother to read more carefully my blog to see that I refer to blogger as a person who writes on a blog. And until this review, I didn’t even hear about Blogger.com

I hate when someone superficially misjudges my work!

Has something like that happened to you? What did you feel about that?

Let’s see if I remember how to write a post after such a long absence :) I’ve recovered a little and I’ve read some great posts written over this week.

1. Jacob Cass has lost his blog. Now, his blog is back online, and Jacob has written a very interesting article to let us know what has happened and how to prevent it from happening to you. You will learn a lot of stuff from his article: BE AWARE OF: Your Host, WordPress Plugins, CPU Load and being BANNED from your own website!

2. From Jacob’s article I went to another great article of David Airey, who teach you how to prevent your gmail account to be hijacked: WARNING: Google’s GMail security failure leaves my business sabotaged. Fortunately, you can read this post on his recovered blog.

3. Bobby Revell has written an excellent post about finding the truth within ourselves, and I hope I understood the article right, because I always read Bobby’s posts with my dictionary around  Take a look on his article, The Disease of Self-centeredness.

4. Darren Rowse has published 17 Stunning Wide Angle Images. You should see those photos. They are stunning, indeed.

5. Joost de Valk write a post about how to Speed up and clean up your WordPress. I think I’ll follow his advices as soon as possible.

6. Sueblimely (I don’t know if this is her name) wrote a great article about the ALT attribute. Although alt is used for other page elements, such as image map areas, she is concentrating on its use for images.

7. If you want to change your blogging style, you should read Wayne Liew’s article Action Plan For A Successful Blogging Style Change. Would your readers like your new changes? Would they read your new articles? Well, take a look and see how to do all these changes.

8. If you want to redesign your blog, you should consider some factors. Steven Snell named 21 of them. If you are curious what these factors are, take a look to 21 Factors to Consider Before a Redesign.

9. Court wrote a great article about Keyword Sniping – Finding And Choosing Profitable Niches. If you want to make big money with Adsense, you need to know how to come up with good keywords. So take a look and make some exercises.

10. Skellie tell us how we can increase our productivity by elimination. If you have some productivity issue, you really should read this article.

11. What did a restaurant have in common with blogging? Did I hear nothing? Well, you can read a great post about What a restaurant can teach you about blogging.

12. If you want to earn money with Adsense, then maybe you want to follow these Ten Tips for Better Adsense Earnings. I’m sure you will like this article.

13. And last but not least, Simonne has posted the 6th edition of Resource for Bloggers Carnival. The participation for this edition was great and you will find many interesting articles in there. I’m so happy that this carnival has such a success.

I’m back!

Ok guys and girls, sorry for missing so much. I’m back now, after two hard weeks.

- My son and I where ill: big fever, headache and so on.
- I had some programming issues to one of my sites and the problem isn’t solved yet.
- I’ve upgraded my blog with the latest wordpress.
- I’ve finally added the Brian threaded comments plugin, so now, I’ll be able to answer to each of you, right after your comment. I think this is a very useful plugin, because if I have no time to answer quickly, it is pretty hard to follow my answers to you after n comments. Besides, you can comment to my commentators comments so you see, I think this is a good thing.
- I’ll make some other changes to my blog’s design, but for now, that’s it.

And last but not least: I have a surprise for you; I’ll announce it the next week, so stay tuned!

Now, I must go and give some answers
