10 tips for a cool blog
November 19th, 2007
If you want to have a cool blog, if you want your visitors to feel good when they visit it, then you should read this little guide. Assuredly your visitors will be marked for a long time.
- Place on your blog as many banners as you can. Of every sizes. Everywhere. In the first visible screen it’s better. If you could, choose those banners with some flashing in it. Assuredly your visitors will remember your blog.
- Use the biggest font possible. Or the smallest one. Some visitors are really blind, some are eagle-eyed. There are so few visitors who can read normal fonts.
- Make your visitors to register in order to post a new comment. Visitors like to spend a lot of time just to leave a comment. Why not to make them happy?
- Create for every post a new category. Visitors do like blogs with about 100 categories, with 1 post/category.
- Place in your sidebar as many widgets as you can. There are a lot of widgets on the internet, why not to put them all? They’re really nice and funny.
- Write long posts when you are boring, just to let visitors know that you have a new blain on your finger or you have a belly-ache.
- Add a song to your blog. If, God forbid, some visitors are relaxed, why not to shake them? In fact, all visitors must be very awake when they visit your blog.
- Use complementary colors for fonts and background. For example, red fonts on green background. Or even better, use dark blue fonts on a black background. Why not to leave your visitors a powerful memory of your blog, like some eyes ache?
- Place over your text some big shinny images. The bigger, the better. Visitors like to search hard for your text.
- Place on your first page bigger images. Visitors like to wait about 5 minutes for a blog to load. In fact, what better job do they have than that?
I know that nobody is born learned, but if you have such a cool blog, please take a look around and learn something. There are so many “boring” blogs on the blogosphere…

Why not writing all the tiles with glittering letters? There’s a free tool available which can help you do this (if you look at some MySpace pages, you’ll know what I mean)
I liked the song idea. Can you believe me that I have a client who asked me nicely and repeteadly that her site starts with a song? It was a hard work to persuade her to give the visitors a choice to start the music by themselves.
“glittering letters” – oh yes, good tip
Another cool post..although I may not totally agreed with #1, #4 and #5. For #1, some bloggers do not like to visit a blog full with banner, even more if it a ads banner…for #4, some of us like to have all the good topic in one category..some like it to be many…for #5, I was told to scrap away a few of my widgets by my blog reviewer…so, all of your point, must be based on ‘not to assume all’ will agreed…I find out that the best reviewer (for free) is forumer…I suggest digitalpoint forum…you can get your blog to be review for free…
When you use lists on your blog, skip the number seven. This makes your blog more mysterious and intriguing.

Good tip BUT you forgot to say that the song should autostart and loop. Also, it wouldn’t hurt if the song was death metal. That genre works well when you are trying to read.
